I design action-driven narrative systems where story, mechanics, and player choice work as one.
Underpower is a mod rulebook I wrote based on the Marvel ’90s CCG: Overpower. In around 1995 we only had a few cards and no rulebook. So we made up a game using the cards we had. I wrote the rulebook based on this experience.
Also coming to this space is The Machinist Port: V1, where the user is invited to play with a fake terminal. The user inputs commands in code with the help of a side-bar where as they progress, older commands fade, to be replaced by more sophisticated codes as the terminal evolves what it is able to create for the user, based on their typed code-words.
A flowboard I wrote for a game-writing task that was not used.
The Infected Towns is a world I’m creating, based on some game writing tasks – original works of mine prepared for a Lovecraftian-themed indie video game project – the works were not bought, so I am recycling them into an original world.
This is a sample of my game writing that did sell.
Divine Madness Bubble: (section 1: walking) was sold for roughly USD150, based on research into the cuisine, architecture, boats, geography and mythology of the Kerala Backwaters region in India.
